Smith Marshall Adventure

I'm sure there will be many more Smith & Marshall adventures to come. This weekend's adventure took us to SNOWY Lake Tahoe. Saturday morning we loaded up the car and were off. Our first signs of snow came about 15 minutes outside of Auburn and there was a blanket of snow at Gold Run, elevation 3000ft.
After laboring along in chain control traffic we got a tip that taking a frontage road up to Alta would get us around all the traffic and shave a couple hours off our journey. There was no need for chains on the highway - the road was clear for the most part and though partly cloudy, there was no snow in sight.

Brieanne and I made the boys (Josh, Brandon & Brandon's brother Mark) a valentine's dinner of stuffed pasta shells & salad (thank you Giada de Laurentis for the recipe). Sunday morning the guys headed off to ski while Brieanne, Claire and I hung out at the cabin and enjoyed the snowy snowy day.

We decorated cupcakes...see below. Yes those are penguin shaped cupcakes hanging out in the snow outside the kitchen window.

Monday morning we cleaned, packed up and headed out, attempting to get ahead of the big storm that was supposed to roll in Saturday afternoon. We were too slow.

Four Months Old!

Today we celebrate Claire's fourth month in our home. Its a glorious day...its pouring outside with much needed rain. Claire and I went to her four month check up. She weighs in at 13lbs 8oz and 26" long...long baby. The report from the Doctor's office was all good. She is healthy and growing well. I was encouraged to keep up tummy time for her even though she screams when placed on her tummy.

Although she discovered her "voice" a couple weeks ago she has really been exercising it lately - especially in the car.

Weekend Adventure

We had the pleasure of the Smith's company this weekend. Claire got to catch up with grandma and grandpa. She's done a lot of growing and changing since they last saw her in December.

Sunday we had a mini family gathering at church for Claire's dedication. She behaved so well on stage - even without her pacifier.

Little Friends

January has come and gone, February is here but take a step outside and you'd think it was April. The weather has been gorgeous - too gorgeous. While other parts of the country freeze their tushies' off, we here in California have been "enjoying" 70's and sunshine.

Once again sleeping in the corner, right next to the monitor.

Lola makes herself comfortable wherever. The Smiths are plugging along. Josh started class again for the semester. He's also building up mileage to do some races later on in the year. Claire has been hanging out with little friends and having some quality family time.
Here we are at almost four months and still no hair to speak of.

Gracie is all smiles.
